There is simply something about South Africans, Tender meat, the atmosphere of a burning fire and the unique smell of roasting meat on the coals… It has gone so far that South Africa even boast with a National Braai Day!!

We at Funky Food can offer you just that! Our Spitbraais operate either indoors or outdoors, and deliver a whole lamb on the spit, done to perfection in around 120 minutes!!

Our Spitbraais are ideal for Catering at Fundraisings, School Events, Rugby Days, Sport Gatherings, Biker Rallies, 21 st Birthday Parties, Weddings, Pub or Bar events, Camps, Bachelor's Parties and any other function imaginable…

Our Spitbraais work with gas, making them smokeless, and highly efficient. Many venues now-days do not allow open-flame spitbraais as the smell lingers for days.

Unlike other Spitbraai companies, we own large braais, up to 1.4 meters long, and we offer you, our customer, a great choice of side-dishes to compliment our perfectly prepared meat.The electric motors on these Spitbraai units can handle up to 40/45kg of meat, making it much more cost effective to use us than other companies that want to charge you for two or even three Spitbraais!

Unlike other Spitbraai companies we also cater for smaller groups as well, as we have small spitbraais too. Please note that additional costs apply for less than 30 Adult Pax. Please note that for groups of less than 30 Adult Pax we will revert to Legs of Lamb, Pork or Selected Beef Cuts, and make use of one of our Small Spitbraais. Our Minimum Amount of Guests are 20 Adults.

We also offer a variety of choices of what we can prepare on the spit. Imagine a Giant Juicy Kebab made of Deboned Beef, Deboned Chicken, Deboned Pork and Deboned Lamb, smothered in our delicious secret marinade basting and all done to perfection on a spit.

Or what about a Chicken braai? We fit up to 40 chickens with ease on one spit with our specially made adapters making our spitbraai services unique. Our other Adapted Spitbraai can do Chicken Leg quaters for up to 120 Pax, all on one Spit!

You can even choose between our selections of marinades for our Chicken Spitbraais!

Spitbraai meat done to perfection... Crackling outers and juicy tender pork/lamb/beef on the inside… mmmmm… just mouthwatering!!

Just like with all our dishes, we only use the best local meat in our dishes, and this also goes for meat being used for our Spitbraais. We believe that good ingredients deliver great food. Thats why we only use Lamb straight from Calvinia!!

Please advise us in the colum below which types of meats you would like to include in your Giant Kebab, in order for us to accurately quote you.

Also mention how many people will be dishing EACH TYPE of MEAT, as we cannot instruct clients on how much of each meat they are allowed to dish for themselves. For instance... If you have 30 guests and indicate that you want two types of meat, we will work on FULL PORTIONS of each type of meat as indicated by your request,resulting in us serving enough meat to 60 guest and not 30. This will result in a wastage of 50%. You, the client, need to decide on the quantities as we can not play "Police Man" and instruct guests that they are only allowed (for instance) 2 slices of each type of meat.
